Terms and Conditions

1. Travel Insurance & Commitment

Highly Recommended: For your peace of mind, we strongly advise all guests to purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. This should cover trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and any unforeseen disruptions to your cruise or broader travel plans.

Our Commitment: As a boutique business, we commit our vessel and staff exclusively to your chosen dates, often turning away other booking opportunities to do so. Consequently, our payment and cancellation terms are firm and cannot be waived for personal emergencies, health issues, or travel delays.

2. Cruise Payment Terms

  • Confirmation: A 25% deposit is required to confirm the offered dates. As a small business, we are unable to hold dates without payment.

  • Balance: The remaining 75% is due 90 days before the sailing date.

  • Late Payment: If payment is not received by this date, Kemetale will automatically consider the booking cancelled. In this event, the deposit will be non-refundable and will not be applicable as a travel credit.

3. Cancellation Policy After Deposit

(Between deposit payment and 90 days prior to sailing) The deposit is refundable, excluding bank transfer fees and a convenience fee, as follows:

  • Standard Charter Booking: USD $3,000 fee

  • Holiday Charter Booking: USD $5,000 fee

Holiday bookings include the last 10 days of December, the first week of January, Easter, Eid Al-Fitr, and Eid Al-Adha.

4. Cancellation After Full Payment

Once the full balance is paid, the following refund/credit schedule applies based on the number of days prior to sailing:

  • 89–56 Days: 75% travel credit (valid for 1 year) OR 50% refund.

  • 55–42 Days: 50% travel credit (valid for 1 year) OR 25% refund.

  • 41 Days or Fewer: 0% refund or credit.

All days are counted as calendar days, including weekends and holidays.

5. Force Majeure

Kemetale defines Force Majeure strictly as a total closure of Egyptian airspace (inbound and outbound air travel) that prevents entry into the country. In all other circumstances—including but not limited to weather conditions, personal illness, global health events, or regional political shifts that do not result in total airspace closure—our standard cancellation terms remain in effect.

6. Liability & Documentation

  • Passports & Visas: It is the sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they possess a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity) and the necessary visas for entry into Egypt. Kemetale is not responsible for trip disruptions caused by improper documentation.

  • Health & Safety: Guests must follow all onboard safety briefings. Kemetale is not liable for personal injury, loss of property, or illness incurred during the cruise, except in cases of proven gross negligence.

  • Itinerary Changes: While we strive to follow the agreed-upon route, Kemetale reserves the right to modify the cruise itinerary due to river conditions, technical requirements, or government-mandated closures for the safety of our guests.
